Hello lovelies! I am sorry for not posting last week, I was under the weather fighting off a cold. Luckily I got better in time to fully enjoy the Oscars, and more importantly the Red Carpet for the Oscars! I want to share a few of my favorite looks from last night.
One cannot talk about the Red Carpet fashion and not discuss Lupita Nygong’o. She wore an amazing custom gown from the Calvin Klein Collection. It took 6000 hand stitched pearls to construct this gown! The exquisite detail and color complimented Nuong’o complexion perfectly. I love the neck detail and the cutout which I think makes the gown young and edgy. Perfect combo for fashion risk takers such as Nygong’o.
A designer who was having a moment was the fabulous Elie Saab. Sometimes designer will only dress one attendant at the Oscars, but Saab made sure to spread the love around. Two of my favorite Elie Saab gowns from last night were worn by Emma Stone and Jlo or as I like to call her Jenny from the block.
Emma Stone who was nominated as Actress in a Supporting Role, wore a body clinging lime green perfection from Elie Saab. The thigh slit added sex appeal to the bedazzled gown. I love how the accessories were simple and hair was swept away allowing all the focus to be on the gown.
Jennifer Lopez gown was also bedazzled in true Elie Saab form. Unlike Stone’s body fitting gown, Lopez gown was sleek and fitted on the top while the bottom was a full ballgown. The nude color complimented Lopez’s complexion beautifully. I even joked on Instagram how I found my wedding dress after seeing this gown. It is feminine, glamorous, and ethereal. Who doesn’t want to look like that on their big day?! In the meantime I will admire this on Jlo.
I would love to know your favorite looks from last night! As always thank you for stopping by -Habon xo
